Men of Destiny  by  Gary Wheeler

Greetings from the Webmaster,

My autobiography shows photos from my years as chief designer at Dan Gurney's All American Racers during the 1970s.  It also covers my own Formula Super Vees, my work in the aircraft world, and finally my 1987 world champion funny car for Kenny Bernstein.

V.G. Lambert commanded the most highly decorated squadron in the
history of U.S. Naval aviation history: torpedo bomber squadron VT-15 flying
off the carrier ESSEX in late 1944.  The fighting in the Pacific was so fierce
that every one of his pilots was awarded the Navy Cross.

Tony Adamowicz is one of America's premier road racing drivers from the
1960s, 70s and 80s.  He's one of the few drivers living today who drove both
the incredible 240 mph Porsche 917K and it's arch rival the Ferrari 512M.
Enjoy a visual treat from a bygone era when all the cars looked different.
100 pages display over 400 career photos and Tony's stories to go with them.

This photo shows Robert Cosgrove folding the wings of his #93 Avenger
after its last flight.  Gunner Loyse Deen lies dead in the top turret.  The
plane could not be repaired so a decision was made to bury Deen at sea
in the aircraft itself.  It was the only such occurrence in U.S. Naval history.
